This site is dedicated to learning how to pinch pennies and start living a more frugal life. I admit that I do not have it all figured out at this point. At times, I feel like I am doing everything but getting it right. Learning to live a simple life is pretty difficult for me because I was not raised that way. Growing up I did not have to do without much and that carried into my adult years. I would find myself purchasing the item I wanted and dealing with how I was going to pay for it after the fact.
My wife was raised just the opposite. While she did not do without anything, she has always been a frugal living type of person. As you can imagine, this has caused many slammed doors, screaming and yelling and ending with me sleeping on the coach many nights. Luckily for me, I woke up one morning. I was lucky enough that it was not beyond repair and I decided to get my life on the right track.
I started doing all kinds of research on frugal living, how to pinch a penny, thrifty… anything I could think of that would help me get a grasp on things. I now have an enormous wealth of information stored on my computer, stuck in books, written on notes, etc. with tips and trick on living a frugal life. I am using that information to create this site.
If you are reading a site on penny pinching or frugal living, you are definitely at least interested in ways you can save money, cut some expenses, live frugal etc. Hopefully thing things I am currently trying and have tried will help you along the way. Likewise, I am always open for your suggestions and comments. If you have something that you think I should post please let me know.
My choice was helped along by our current economy, but it is not something that I regret. In fact, I find myself happier living a simpler life than I did when I would just spend money like it grew on trees. It is now a game between my wife and I. We try to see who can pinch the most pennies on several things. One of us will go shopping and you get bragging rights if you saved more money than the other one did the last time they went shopping.
Our goal is simple. We want to keep learning how to pinch pennies, live frugal, save some money and ultimately get our self out of debt. It is an uphill battle I am in, one that I plan on winning. Join me on my journey of the frugal living life.
